K2 Stone's Solid Stone Post Caps are designed to provide a protective top surface for any type of post. Made from a solid piece of stone, they typically overhang the post slightly to provide a drip edge for water to flow off, preventing it from permeating into the post structure and damaging its integrity. Post Caps are available in many profiles, designed to complement our most popular natural stone product lines. Ocean Pearl slate has a unique geology that can only be found on Vancouver Island. Its palette of blues and greys, punctuated with occasional white quartz veins, mixes well with other construction materials such as wood, steel and concrete. Ocean Pearl Natural Top Post Caps have a split top and cut bottom, with flamed sides. They're available in any size combination up to 24" x 24", and are a minimum of 2" thick. Flaming (a process that fires a cut stone face to produce a textured look) enhances all four cut sides.
This product can be used wherever posts are installed to support a roof or overhang. On front elevations this may be part of the architectural detail around a front door, a verandah or porch. At the back of the home, outdoor "rooms" may be sheltered by a pergola or similar roofing feature. If stone columns are used as a base, they can be capped with this product for beauty and durability.
